Message: I've been a patient of Dr. Herrold's for at least 6 or 7 years now. I have had chronic migraines my entire adult life. I have been to a multitude of neurologists over the years in the various places I've lived. I find Dr. Herrold a straight shooter, knowledgeable, and competent. He always spends adequate time with me, explains my options and discusses the ideas I have for my care. He understands all the latest treatments and has successfully found solutions for me to control the chronic pain and debilitating migraines I have suffered from. I live a fairly pain free life now under his care. It is a shame that other reviewers judge a doctor solely based on his bedside manner. I would far rather have a doctor that can offer me eduction, and real solutions rather than hold my hand. Dr. Herrold has worked hard to get the latest treatments approved for me, while other doctors made me jump through hoops to try everything under the sun unsuccessfully. My genetic predisposition for having migraines is so strong, and he understands how best to treat them. For many years, he gave me my Botox treatments that helped tremendously, always with a steady hand and got it over with quickly with little pain. These shots can be tedious as one gets close to 30plus injections in the head, neck and shoulders. I am now on a new biologic treatment that has all but eliminated the need for those. Any way I look at it, he has done what is best for me. I appreciate him, and his office staff that have always been attentive to my needs. I feel we have a very good patient/ doctor relationship, and now consider him my friend, as he cares about my well being. I have sent friends and neighbors to him as well, and they have been happy with his care as well. He is highly trained, well educated and has a great deal of experience. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him to anyone with neurologic issues.

Message: Dr Herrold has been a life saver in treating my MS for the last decade plus. I love the way he helps put my chronic illness into perspective, as well as all the benefits and risks of various treatment options. He presents all options in an honest straightforward manner, and it truly helps me to make educated decisions. In the last year he began treating my husband for migraines that started to take over his life. We’re still working on a balance between triggers and meds, but he’s gone from 3 or so days a week struggling with pain to 3 or so days a month! Thank you Dr Herrold for your approach to medicine and continued help!

Message: I was referred by my primary doctor for headaches and an unusual brain MRI reading. My symptoms were not severe, and I seem to be slowly improving, but it was concerning. Dr Herrold was running way behind today, but after my long wait in the very pleasant waiting area, he was very kind, listened well, explained all sorts of things about the brain and about what could or might happen, and what he thought was or wasn't going on for me. Overall I had a very positive experience. I did not find him arrogant or rude in the least. I must say I was dreading this appt and was scared to go, after reading all the bad reviews, so I felt I must share my good experience to assure anyone else who may be in my situation. It is extremely hard to get in to see any neurologist now (esp due to COVID shutting them down for months) and so I appreciated the opportunity to have an appt, the care I received, and being reassured.

Message: I was nervous about this appointment after reading the mixed reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Herrold helped me understand an artery issue that I was having and the course of action that I needed to take. He seemed to care and I left the appointment feeling like I had some clarity on a stressful medical situation.
